The main attractions in the Country of Myanmar

There is too much to do in our country to cover on one page… but here are some ideas.

YANGON

Shwedagon Pagoda: The greatest Buddhist temple in the world.  A gilded stupa is the landmark of Myanmar situated on the Hill Singuttara 190 feet above sea level. It was originally built in 600 BC by the King Okkalapa by enshrining the four relics of Four Buddha who had attained enlightenment.

Chauk Htet Gyi: 65 meters length reclining Buddha images, built in 1907 is one of the four biggest Buddha images in Myanmar.

Walking around old city: We will see the old colonial buildings such as City Hall A white colonial building with Myanmar style architecture: High Court building, the highest legal authority in the land: Immanuel Baptist Church originally built in 1830: Sule pagoda where the British designed grid street pattern of Rangoon City: and continue to Strand Hotel: etc..

Botahtaung Pagoda: It named after the 1000 military leaders who escorted relics of the Buddha. It is hollow and can walk through to see the ancient collections of the Pagoda. There are a large gilded bronze Buddha images which was returned from London in 1951 and a pond where full of hundreds of turtles head out of the water.

Kandawgyi lake : A natural lake close to the city center is good for a stroll. You will find the best view of Shedagon Pagoda and Karaweik, a reinforced concrete reproduction of a royal barge.

MANDALAY

Mandalay Palace, built in 1857 by king Mindon (the second last king of Yadanabon Kingdom).

Golden palace monastery covered with gold leave and decorated with wood arts and carvings.

Kuthodaw pagoda: the world biggest book was acknowledged by UNESCO as a memory of the World.

Mandalay Hill (975 feet above sea level) by car and enjoy the sunset, fresh air.

U Bein Bridge (the World Longest Teak Bridge) With 1086 Teak Pillars is 1. 2km  Long and Over 160 Years Old.

Mahagandaryon Monastery where over 1500 Monks Are Residing And Have A Look At The Life In Monastery.

Bargayar Monastery with 176 teak pillars, Leaning Tower and Bargayar Kyaung, a Stucco Monastery by horse cart.

Sagaing Hill on the bank of River Ayeyarwadi with a fantastic panoramic view

U Min Thone Se Pagoda and SoneOoPoneNyaShin Stupa on the range of Sagaing Hill.

Mingun Area  along the River Ayeyarwady and stroll around the biggest unfinished Mingun Pha Hto temple, a 90 tons of bell and White terrace Stupa.

INLE LAKE

Lake Life – The local Inthar’s five day rotation Market, floating villages, floating gardens and the Inthar technique leg-rowing where one leg is wrapped around the paddle to drive the boat are the attraction of the Lake.

Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the lake main sanctuary in which contain five sacred Buddha Images.

Cat Jumping monastery, one of the oldest monasteries on the lake to see many ancient Buddha Images with beautiful thrones.

ShweInnDein Pagoda is a one thousand pagoda complex, located on the western bank of Inle Lake. Soft walking around the villages and pagoda compound.
